Enzyme and Chemical Peel Aftercare Guidance

Following these guidelines will help you get the most from your treatment while supporting the long-term health and glow of your skin.

  • Always wear sunscreen daily with at least SPF 30.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours.

  • Wait until your skin fully recovers before getting additional treatments like laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, or injectables.

  • Avoid using chemical exfoliants such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, and salicylic acid for at least 7 days.

  • Avoid physical exfoliation (scrubs and devices such as fascial cleansing brush, gloves, etc.) for at least 7 days.

  • Avoid facial hair removal methods such as waxing, threading, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream for at least 7 days.

  • Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24-48 hours.

  • Avoid excessive sweating, saunas, steamy showers, and strenuous exercise for at least 48 hours.

  • If you experience flaking/peeling, avoid picking, pulling, rubbing or scrubbing your skin.  Let your skin shed naturally.

  • Cleanse your skin with tepid water and use gentle skin care products. Pat, don’t rub your skin when applying moisturizers, serums, or sunscreen.

  • Nourish your skin with a medium-to-thick moisturizer. Drink plenty of water to help keep your skin hydrated.
